Cheap Easter Basket Ideas

Looking for an inexpensive Easter basket idea? Here are some quick and easy finds that will make your child's day or give you a nice extra basket for all the extra guests that show up at the holidays! :)

Toys R Us has their baskets on sale already! The above Dora the Explorer basket was originally $19.99 and has now been marked down to $6.99! This would also make for a great child's birthday gift - just pull apart out of the basket and wrap in birthday paper.

For younger kids think outside the "candy box" and fill it full of dollar store (or dollar isle) items they'll love and wear themselves out using! Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, shovels and pails, small cups for water play, crayons, coloring books, playdoh...and the list goes on!

For the older kids - hit the bathroom stockpile and take a second look at your free samples! All that yummy smelling body wash, make up, and cool razors you've been saving are fun for kids that can use it.  Just remember to add a little sweetness to the basket with a small gift card (maybe a Target one gotten through a sale) or eggs full of change so they can buy a little of what they want too.

And don't underestimate the power of a few pieces of candy and a fun family outing! Waking up to a few treats and eggs with clues to a scavenger hunt or treasure map will be fun for all.  Geocaching is a great way to get outside and look for buried treasure without costing a thing!
