Paintbox Children's Program at Montage Beverly Hills
If you are planning on taking a holiday to Beverly Hills, California, check out Montage Beverly Hills. It is far from the hostels I usually stay at when I'm visiting California, but if you are planning a nice vacation with the family and would like to have a little time to spend with your spouse, Montage Beverly Hills has a program which can make you and the kiddos very happy! Their recently launched children's program called Paintbox is a cool little program available to in-house guests, as well as hotel restaurant and Spa Montage patrons.
Theme Days Every Day
- Magic Monday: Grab your wizard wands and learn magic-inspired activities including special tricks, science experiments, bead crafts and more.
- Top Chef Tuesday: Put on your chef hat and apron as you take part in cooking creations and taste test challenges to become the next Top Chef of Montage Beverly Hills.
- Wild West Wednesday: Wanted: Smiling or Laughing! Take part in a Western-themed scavenger hunt complete with sheriff badges, special crafts and root beer floats.
- Let the Games Begin Thursday: Go for the gold with indoor sports-themed activities, including old school board games, trophy making and hall-of-fame hands.
- Save the Earth Friday: Green is good, and can be a ton of fun too! From recyclable craft sessions to sampling dirt desserts, you’ll learn simple new ways to be eco-friendly.
- Hooray for Hollywood Saturday: Be a star for a day when you make your own Hollywood handprint, receive a Paintbox Oscar, star on a gameshow and more.
- So-Cal Sunday: Experience the So-Cal way of life with cool sand art crafts, surfboard designs, jewelry making, and other activities.
Paintbox is available seven days a week for children ages 5-12. Families can choose the full day program, morning or afternoon sessions, or the special Children’s Night Out session. Paintbox can also be arranged hourly upon request:
- Full Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., $90; lunch included
- Morning: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., $60; lunch included
- Afternoon: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., $60; lunch included
- Children’s Night Out (Friday & Saturday): 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., $60; dinner included
- Hourly: Available upon request, $20 per hour, per child

Snowland at The Great Wolf Lodge!
We have stayed at the GWL in Kansas City, Kansas a few times in the summer, but haven't yet experienced Snowland! It looks beautiful and the kids and I can't wait.
There are so many reasons a visit to a Great Wolf Lodge makes one of the best family getaways. For starters, the waterpark. I love the idea of no matter what time of year it is, the family can enjoy it. We have gone in the summer when it was too crowded and hot to enjoy the outdoor waterparks and tomorrow we will be heading up to the lodge in Charlotte/Concord to experience the park and its lovely 84 degrees while it is freezing outside.
A couple things I really LOVE about the waterpark - it is only for the guests of the hotel. Sweeeeet! The park is never crazy crowded which means your time spent there is spent having fun, NOT waiting in lines. And no matter the ages of your children, they are ALL going to have a good time! I have four boys and their ages are split (19 and 17; 12 and 10) and keeping teens entertained while keeping little ones happy can be a bit of a tasking ordeal - but not at GWL - they have something for all ages and everyone has a blast!
And the rooms. . . A-MAZE-ING! Forts, bunk beds, nintendo, and much more. Visit here to check out their suites!
No matter the time of year they always have daily events going on for the kiddos. Snowland has a few extra goodies. Now through Christmas it snows inside (I can't wait to see this :-). Cub Club will be decorated like Santa's workshop and kids can come down and write letters to Santa, make holiday crafts. There is a wrapping station, where the kids can wrap the presents they make.
Cub Club will also be the home of the North Pole University for Elves. Kids can visit Cub Club during the Snowland event and pick up thier study guide for this year's North Pole University. They will learn about the animals at the North Pole, visit Rowdy the Reindeer, and practice their chimney-sliding skills. All the graduating elves earn an NPU diploma and a special gift. How adorable!
