Join me in Helping out an Elementary School in Need

Margie, the Springfield Mommy recently told me about this Pepsi Refresh Project going on through March 31, 2010 and how a school in Illinois could really use our votes.

On March 28th, 2009 Benld Elementary in Macoupin County, Illinois (about 45 miles south of Springfield) suffered a tragic event, leaving over 700 students without a school. Without any warning mine subsidence took the school forcing it to be condemned. The walls and floors in the school have cracked and are still sinking and causing the building to be torn apart at all ends. The whole community has been working together to find land and rebuild. While the school system has been able to relocate students to Gillespie and place them in temporary modular classrooms the students need a place they can call their own.

Which is where we come in. Pepsi is giving $250,000 to one deserving school and with our help they will be able to rebuild and have a place to call home. So please join me in voting for Benld Elementary by visiting facebook, it won't cost you anything but a minute of your time to vote and to pass it on to friends and family. Together we can make this happen for the children of the Benld School District.
