Certify your own back yard as a Wildlife Habitat. Its Easy and Fun!

Having four boys, my backyard is pretty much a Wildlife Habitat, and it has made me "certifiable", but that isn't the kind of wild life or certification the National Wildlife Federation is talking about. A few years back I homeschooled one of my son's and we took on a really fun outdoor project; making our backyard a Certified Wildlife Habitat . My son was sent a certificate and we have a sign he hung to show-off his hard work. This is a project you can do whether you live in an apartment balcony or a 20-acre farm, you can create a garden that attracts beautiful wildlife and helps restore habitat in commercial and residential areas. By providing food, water, cover and a place for wildlife to raise their young--and by incorporating sustainable gardening practices--you not only help wildlife, but you also qualify to become an official Certified Wildlife Habitat™.
