Hurricane Matthew - Stay Safe All!




Hurricanes can create lots of chaos and uncertainty. If you've been asked to evacuate then please adhere to the warnings. This New Orleanian understands firsthand just how a hurricane and residual flooding can devastate a city.

Here are some easy tips on staying safe if you are riding this hurricane out:

Stay away from low-lying and flood prone areas.

Always stay indoors during a hurricane, because strong winds will blow things around.

Leave mobile homes and to go to a shelter.

If your home isn’t on higher ground, go to a shelter.

If emergency managers say to evacuate, then do so immediately.

Do not drive if the water is high.

Don't drink the water after until the city officials give the clear.
